Education & Career Highlights
The first story we authentically share is our own. To share our story we must first know ourselves. We must know who we were, who we are, and who we want to become. Only when we know these things can we discover where our talents are needed, and what our world expects of us. Our Curriculum Vitae (or resume if academia is not your thing) is a snapshot of the experiences which make up a part of our story. For me, the highlights below were crucial plot points in my narrative to date.
Gonzaga University
Returning to school after twenty years was a challenge and a joy. The Zag community welcomed me with open arms and supported me through a process of growth and rediscovery that was as amazing as it was unexpected.
Emerson College
Boston was my first true experience with city life. At Emerson I learned to successfully swim in a bigger pond. I taught my first undergraduate classes, realized that I am definitely more of a qualitative than quantitative researcher, and discovered a love of lobster.
University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
Completing my undergraduate degree at UWSP taight me that I learned best from teaching, that I was not cutthroat enough to be a professional actor, and that chicken tenders (with ranch) are my ultimate comfort food. It also brought me together with a group of true friend and taught me that it is, indeed, all about balance.
Vino Latte
This woman-owned cafe, wine bar and boutique became my second home after I moved across the country to take care of my parents and needed work that offered more flexibility while still providing oportunities for growth and mentoring.
Early College of Arvada
My (now) husband Chris and I founded ECA in 2008 to help open the doors to college for students with multiple at-risk factors. Our first year we enrolled fewer than 50 students in grades 9 and 10 - when we passed the torch in 2023, this incredible school was serving over 300 students in grades 6 - 12. It is still living its mission and vision today, and we could not be prouder!
LMACS
I found LMACS after I completed my first Master's, when I decided I wanted to work with at-risk students.I fell in love with the students during my first interview, blown away by the passion and dedication of the staff, and the resilience and hope the students embodied.
